Acceptance with RC below 17

From 2006- Now, there's only been 4 Texas school acceptances with RC scores equal to or lower than 17.


From 2006-Now, theres only been 73 nationwide acceptances with RC scores equal to or lower than 17.

This is very not-reassuring considering I made a 17 on RC..
BUT did v.well on TS and have a good gpa

The section doesn't even measure your reading ability. If they gave us a ctrl+F function everyone would have a 30 on it.

Not on mine I had tone questions.

Any how predents is not representative of the population. Plus its only a small part of the national applicants so you cant say 4 b.c thats 4 out of/x amount on predents not all the applicants

I agree, some schools have like 17 cutoffs (Indiana), I contacted other schools like UNLV, some look at your all DAT attempts and not the latest one, I think if your application is strong in other areas to mask weakness, then hopefully it will make it competitive.

If not, you know what we have to do right...we have to learn about piano's and how they are structured and made, if you know what I mean.

If you did well on your other sections and have a solid app. you should be fine. I'm stressing about my RC score too but can't do anything about it now.

Well, its 4 out of all applicants to Texas. And 73 out of all nation wide applicants

I first I thought I saw QR...but its actually RC...not so sure how 17 on RC will hinder your ability to get into dental school but for QR definitely is ok

yeah..dude..you are finally done...congrats!
how did you do on QR, the section you've been worried about?
and I personally think that you don't need to worry too much about 17RC if you did very well on TS like you said. BTW what's the very well TS score for you? Just curious...

Oh hey, don't waste too much of your time on counting numbers based on the sample that's not representative the whole population. 🙂 You can do it, if you want, but don't get stressd too much from it..

Any body did get in school or know anybody with DAT: 16 AND GPA: 3.5 can have an interview? I just took DAT for 2nd and I didn't do well. I still proceed my application but I don't expect much. 🙁

i have a RC 15 and i have 4 interviews so far...including UCSF. yea i know...till this day i'm still astonished!! after i saw my RC score i thought i had NO CHANCE. but hopefully i will eventually get accepted somewhere...hopefully.

And since they DON'T give us a ctrl+F function, doesn't that mean that the section DOES test our reading ability.

you dont want that Ethics passage either, but at both of my interviews no one cared about RC, may be they will care when decision time will come.

I'm happy for you; and BTW if you get invited to interview , it's not a bad sign at all that they'll turn you down at the end. They looked at your score and now they want to see now you behave on an interview.

two yeas ago my buddy received many interviews with a 15 in RC. He was then rejected by every school but Indiana.

Indiana called him and told him to retake the DAT. They said they didn't care about any category but RC. He needed to score a 18+ on RC and they said they would accept him.

Well he retook it and got a 19. he is now in school at IU.

ive been wondering about what to say in an interview when they ask you about your one low score (for me--PAT). i dont really have a good excuse.

It is bothering me more than anything at this poiint
I've done two interviews and CASE and NOVA
and waiting to hear from others.
