Do schools every offer acceptances during interviews to certain candidates? Did this happen to anyone last year? I think I remember hearing something about this awhile back on SDN, or at least that some schools will try to convince you to go there at the end of the interview if they are exceptionally pleased with you for some reason.

Also, just out of curiousity, is there anyone who had several interviews (like >6-8) but was not accepted to any programs? You can PM me if you don't want to post such personal information but I'm curious as to how comfortable I should feel to have several interview invites already. At this point, I still feel very far from being "done" with the process and feel like I have no idea where I stand.

Is anyone else feeling like they want things to happen in fast forward?

You might want to do a search on this topic. Good luck.🙂

First off, it is rare for an interviewer to outright say "we want you." Unless you say they are your #1 choice, try not to do this b/c you will likely change your mind...I would also say that early interviews are a good sign you will get an outright acceptance over a waitlist, that drags on for the summer.

Generally, people who get 6 interviews or more get into AT LEAST 1 school, so I think the magic number is 6, though I've heard of people being interviewed at only 4 schools and they get into all of them, I'd say 6 is it...do a search on this, by "number of interviews" I think...good luck and don't worry, early interviews are a great sign. Try to go to all of them until you make up your mind, let THEM close doors for you, don't close doors yourself.😎
