Looks like you are OUT OF TOUCH WITH REALITY my friend:
look at this thread on sdn about all the problems i have talked about: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=836591
and by the way the ppl in that thread are actual dental students not immature predents like you
Attacking the person instead of the idea is a sure sign of being wrong FYI.
That discussion is mostly all between pre-dents and D1, D2 students first of all. Next year when I am a D1 will my maturity meet your criteria for being able to contribute to a discussion? You have a lot to learn if you think dental students talking the economy and politics is a source of good information. There is so much mis-information in that thread that it should smack you in the face (granted I didn't read it all because I was gaining nothing from it).
The discussion also talks nothing of pharmacists like you implied. It is talking of an over-saturation of dentists in suburban areas (which I have no desire to practice there) and rising tuition costs. Tuition costs are rising for everything, this is not unique to dentistry. This is a trickle down effect of a bad economy (among other things) where states can't subsidize like they used to and other general rising costs. Schools still have to balance their budget at the end of the year.
There are no golden tickets anymore, no degree with guarantee you a lot of money. I am banking on using my background in small business to my advantage, working in a high needs area that has very few dentists (rural or urban), and living frugally while I am in debt. I also have a wife that makes a very nice living.
I am not going into this whole deal blind, and there are still many successful models to follow in dentistry.
