Schools can retract their offer of acceptance if there is a significant change to your academic performance. They are expecting you to maintain your grades. What about classes you might still be enrolled in? How well do you have to do to maintain acceptance?
That is literally the worst mistake you could possibly make in the time between getting accepted and medical school. Don't propose until you know they can handle the stress of the med school lifestyle, because you don't really know what a person's like until SHTF.So I assume that the thing to do between now and medical school is
1. Propose to SO
2. Read books for fun
3. Workout. Gotta look decent for OMM.
4. Travel since we won't have any time in medical school.
5. Sleep
6. Work
Spend your weekends on vacation, because you won't have them in school. Seriously, enjoy your time off, it will be awhile before you have it again!

I disagree depending on the circumstances. I have been with my girlfriend for 8 years now and I think it would be messed up to expect her to pick up her life and move with me to a different state without commitment.
8 years is a fairly atypical situation. For the majority of people, I would highly recommend against marriage, but I agree, in your case it is totally legit.I disagree depending on the circumstances. To those who don't like or want commitment, you should refrain from giving relationship advice to those who do have and want a committed relationship. The advice of single people to committed people generally doesn't help the people who want their relationships to last.
I'll be traveling around the globe for 7 months before I sign my life away.
