Hi all!

I was grateful enough to receive an acceptance off the waitlist to a medical school, my first A of the cycle. However, the admissions officer stated that I must "Commit to Enroll" within one week of my offer letter, dropping all of my other WLs. Students who were originally admitted (not waitlisted) have until mid-June to CTE.

I am still on waitlists to three other schools, all of which I prefer to go to and one of which offers free tuition. Is it is allowed for schools to have different CTE dates for waitlisted students and regularly admitted students? I would be happy to Plan to Enroll, but it's really a tough situation not giving myself a chance with the other schools. Any advice would be appreciated.

Congratulations!

What does your offer letter say?

No, we shouldn't have schools publicly list a CTE date through the MSAR, but apply a different standard/date at their discretion for taking people off the waitlist. However, PTE/CTE isn't "enforceable" like that. If you feel comfortable, DM me so I can find out who I can bring this problem to.

Are you sure they didn’t say they need a response from you in 5 days?
Ask them to follow up the call with an email of your offer.
Always great to see it in writing.
But this might be your one and only offer so are you going to say no?
