Hey all.. Quick question:

I've been accepted to DS next year and have 1 remaining pre-req (physics 2) to complete before matriculation. Having said that, would you recommend taking the course alone and focusing on other goals or coupling that course with another like biochem 2/physiology to better prepare myself?

I'm inclining to go with option A but am worried that taking a very light semester would be looked down upon.

Thoughts?

I agree, just take the required prerequisite. You could also take a business class, interpersonal communications class, or finance class to get some non science experience that will be important in D school and beyond.

I agree with what they said. Take the 1 course. But more importantly, rest / relax. Enjoy yourself. The next 4 years will be a marathon. You are going to have info fed to you through a firehose. Take time for yourself while you can. You'll appreciate a lot more in the long run.

If you can fit that prereq in this upcoming winter semester, then do it. Depending on what's left for your major, finish that up too.

If you have room left over and need to be full time (e.g., for financial aid), then take classes where the topic interests you, no matter how irrelevant it is to your major or dental school. Don't bother trying to think "will dental schools like to see this" if you are already in. Think of this as your last opportunity to take those classes that interest you, as once you start dental school, it won't be there.
