I'm not concerned with impressing the socks off anyone anymore. I work in cardiology research and I'm still been working my butt off as far as my actual work goes, but I've let everything else at my job return to normal.
I find myself being a lot more casual with my fellow employees. I'm acting more like myself now, letting myself make jokes more, laughing more, smiling, it feels wonderful.

I haven't had a hair cut since last November, I put my 2g plugs back into my ears.

Anyone else?

I can't say I ever really cared that much to begin with d: probably because I wasn't ever a true pre-med and no one really cared that much that I was applying to med school anyways.

But it's probably a good thing you've relaxed 👍

Yea it is a different feeling, but I still think I care a lot. I'm reminded of a quote: "It's not about proving myself anymore, but showing appreciation for what I have" or something like that 🙂

I hate to admit I'm not working as hard as I was pre-acceptance, but it's definitely the case. Work is slow right now and I'm already looking forward to school.

All I have to say is that I am very grateful to have received my acceptance the day AFTER finals (how ironic) b/c I know I would have absolutely no motivation at all.

I saw it for myself though throughout the school year when my friends were getting into law, optometry, dentistry, graduate and medical schools how they just stopped caring. To be honest I was envious. Ha ha.

My students already had their AP test, and it's become a downhill slide since then. Before the test I had to concentrate and buckle down to make sure my students knew their stuff, but it feels so good to be done and leaving soon for med school! 🙂

Haha. I wear my lip ring to work more now, and I wear jeans and sandals more. Fortunately no one seems to care. Also fortunately, I've been gradually passing on my tasks to my successor, so I don't have much work to do anymore 😛

I've definitely become a lot more relaxed and I have a "i don't give a **** attitude" in school/work, but I would say I've always been the casual type who's joked around and whatnot...so I don't know if I can relate to your whole "letting myself make jokes more, laughing more, smiling" feeling, because that's how you should always be--just a cheery person in general!

I only go to work at 9am on Mondays....every day else I go in at 10 or 11.(I still do my 40). Before (and it's scary)I worked at least 80 hours/week and ever since I got my acceptance I've been working less.
