So, unc ch students know there is a partnership program in elizabeth city, nc, that is the UNC program, you get a UNC PharmD degree, etc. You just go to elizabeth city and do teleconference classes. So I got my letter today saying I have the option of either accepting to elizabeth city (with only about 9-14 other students I'll see every day for 3 years), or I can choose to be put on the waitlist for the main campus. I went to unc as an undergrad and I am in love with the campus. Since they don't choose that many to go to elizabeth city, I didn't think I'd be one of the ones chosen for the partnership program. Go figure.

What I basically want to know is, since I do not know what my ranking will be on the waitlist unless I definitely choose the waitlist, what are my chances of getting in to the main campus program if I forego elizabeth city and choose waitlist status? Has any unc student been in this situation? I have to decide by March 31st. And yes, I really do badly want this (my second time applying since graduating undergrad), and perhaps (read definitely) I'm being picky when I can't afford to be, but I know people who were lesser qualified (ie. much lower gpa, almost zero work experience, no extracurriculars) who were accepted to the main campus. It's extremely frustrating and the admissions process has made me a tad bitter. Thank you for any advice. Again, it helps if you're a unc student now and know a little something about how the whole thing works.
