Hi,

I received an ACD in December in NY. Since this doesn't count as a conviction I answered no to any convictions. My case is pending until June at which time my case will be sealed. I have already interviewed and may get accepted soon. Is there any way I can delay the background check till June when my case is sealed?

Thanks

I haven't been accepted yet but think I will know in a week or two. Maybe I can say I want to complete the background check after I get my Spring 2018 grades?

Also what information is asked during the background check?

Grades have no bearing on a background check. That will look super fishy.

They ask you your name, SSN, and addresses. And then they run various checks on you.

Also, just a note, an ACD is usually not considered "guilty", and so it shouldn't have an impact on you. I think it would be worse to try to get out of it, than to do the check and have a small blip that means nothing.

A pending case does not look bad? It is an ACD but it will show up because it is pending. I don't want to not be accepted because of this.
