#40, in the explanation it says "Sperm cell - does not contain X chromosome". Am I missing something here? I thought a sperm cell can either carry X or Y, and that is how sex is determined? I got the answer right by process of elimination, but am I totally missing something here???

P.S. Question asks "Which one is incorrect?" And one of the answers was Sperm cell - contain X and Y chromosomes.

I think... The big word in that answer is AND. Is should be "EITHER X or Y" to be a correct answer. "AND" makes it an incorrect answer.

I don't have the question in front of me, but that's my best guess from the info you've given.

Yup thats 100% correct. A male will donate 50% of the sex chromosomes and a female will donat the other 50% to the zygote. Thus, it is said that the male determines the sex of the offspring...
