for those that have already taken the DAT, how did your RC scores compare to the real DAT?

I just took Achiever one and scored a 20. should i be happy or is achiever RC easier than the real DAT.

Thanks!

Unfortunately what is "easier" is somewhat subjective but I would say that you are in a good position, I went +5 from achiever test one and the DAT which I took only 1.5 weeks apart. However, I was familiar with all three of the topics I had in the RC on the DAT and needless to say it made things a lot easier. I also did not get piano'd. I would go into the test confident that you have done well but if you're too confident then you won't be on your toes when it counts...this happened to me in QR and it sucked. I would say that you are doing good and the fact that you are questioning your preparedness will keep you more attentive during the test. For RC, go into it with a plan that works for you and stick to it. I thought achiever passages were longer then the actual DAT for the most part, and the length of my passages ranged from 12 to 17 paragraphs each with 3 to 8ish (?) sentences. If you are worried getting piano'd like I was then review the youtube video:

and read

so you have a background and the passage doesn't shock you if you get it. My family has had a grand piano in our living room our whole life, I played the piano and I still learned stuff from this websites.

-good luck

Informative links. I guess if one could comfortably handle Achiever's RC, the piano and several other non-science passages on the DAT would not be as intimidating as they would sound.

I thought one of Achiever's readings mimics the "piano" pretty comparably. You guys should also try some of the MCAT verbals despite a different format featured. These along with Achiever will make you like a pro on the DAT from my experience.
