I will be taking DAT in early, mid or late June. I took my very first achiever test and bombed it. 😀

I only used 2/3 of Chad's Videos and went through Destroyer once. I plan on going through Destroyer one more time.

PAT: Much tougher than CrackPAT
QR: Trickier than Math Destroyer, but I got lucky.
RC: This was even tougher than Godfrey.
BIO: About the same as Destroyer, and my performance was same.
GC: About the same as Destroyer
OC: Easier than Destroyer

I hear that Achiever is tougher than the real DAT. But does this apply to every section? Aren't PAT and RC the only ones that are tougher? I hear that real DAT's BIO is just like Destroyer's, and I thought Achiever's was just like Destroyer's or rather easier.

I would say that PAT is somewhere in between the difficult of Crack DAT and Achiever. For QR and RC in Achiever were nearly identical to that of the DAT. And as everyone has said already, Bio, OC, and GC were similar to Destroyer (it's your ticket to a high TS score!).

Are you sure about QR and RC? RC on Achiever is the most twisted and evil bit of exam I have EVER taken. The passage in test 2 with the calculations haunts me to this day and nothing that any other RC practice test or the real test compared to Achiever. Hell the RC questions with the 2 assertions and relationships aren't even there on the real DAT.

QR was gratuitously difficult too. There were some very tricky questions and the level of computational diffculty is a few notches higher.

Don't get me wrong, I love Achiever and attribute a lot of my success to that particular tool (even more than Destroyer or Top Score...about as much as CDP and CDR). I just think that its tests are significantly harder.

You have a wonderful set of scores on the real DAT, but I highly doubt your Achiever scores were in the 20s. That isn't me trying to insinuate you are stupid (clearly you're not) but it is a testament to the disparity in difficulty between Achiever and the DAT.

As others have said, Achiever's hard for just about everything! It kills your morale, but it's awesome practice and gave me great explanations that helped do well on the real thing. After practicing with Achiever, Id do a Kaplan practice just a few days before your test to give yourself a confidence booster.

Bio- pretty comparable to the real thing, but the questions are from a wide range, so you never know. Cliff Notes AP Bio helped me a lot! (Achiever score-17-19, real score-20)

GChen- Achiever's hard as hell. The problem setup questions always took me so long, but the ones on the real test are a lot simpler. You still have to work pretty fast. I think 19 was the highest I got for this section on Achiever, but I got 24 on the real thing.

Orgo- Comparable. I did't do so well on this section on the Achiever just because I *always* run out of time because of gen chem. When I look over the questions thought, they're pretty comparable in difficulty. (real score- 21)

Reading- Achiever's super technical and pretty much impossible! I can't even finish 2 passages on that thing and questions are so convoluted. Reading's my weakest area and I just gave up on it. The real test was much more reasonable. I was also lucky to see a passage on dopamine receptors since I'm a neuro major. (Achiever-around 14, real score-19)

Math- Achiever's much harder. I did well on my SAT maths and always had plenty of time leftover. On the Achiever though, I often can't even finish and never got above a 21. I had about 2 min leftover to check my marked question and got 24 on the real thing.

PAT- Achiever's ridiculous. When I go back to review my missed questions, I'd stare for so long and still can't visualize the right shape (esp key hole and TFE). I've *never* finished a PAT section on the achiever and usually get 14-17. You still have to work fast on the real test, but it's much easier. I was surprised this was my highest score (27). So happy with it 🙂

Don't lose hope! Good luck!

Did you take your DAT today?

Did you take your DAT today?

Yup! Just took it Tuesday! So happy to be done now!!

If you haven't taken yours, I'd also suggest you to go through the tutorial in the beginning before starting the actual test, because 2 questions on the tutorial actually appeared later! A random, but not super obscure, fact that was in the sample passage was on the bio section for me!

You, sir, are a good man.

Tutorial on the DAT or on Achiever?

At what score on Achiever is it safe to say your ready?
Im freaking out. For both test 2 and 4 I'm scoring about 15-16 on the sciences. But I'm getting like 90% right in the Destroyer! I was planning on taking the DAT in 2 weeks but now I thinking who am I kidding. Any advice?

I think that you are good to go.

Sidenote: My scores went up on everything except for QR. My average for Achiever was 22 and I got a 20 on the real thing.
