In the popular imagination, not to mention fashionable neo-liberal pseudo intellectual cultural commentators otherwise unencumbered with imagination who often confuse sarcasm and wit, there exists an often repeated mantra that western concepts of health and mental health are being spread across the globe with scant regard for cultural differences. The truth of this makes for an interesting debate but in this instance we have an example of a behaviour laden with psychological overtones that seems to be spreading in the opposite direction, from Southeast Asia to the West.

I decided not to spell it out because I thought it would just be pedantic and insult the intelligence any one bored enough to be reading my scribble.
