I just started filling out ERAS and I was surprised to see that they ask if you're ACLS certified. Unfortunately, my certification just recently expired. Does programs care if you're not certified? Is it worth it to run out and get re-certified right away?

I wouldn't. Many, if not most programs which require their residents to be ACLS certified will offer aq course during orientation. Since the course is expensive if your medical school doesn't pay for it, I wouldn't worry about it (then again if they do pay and you have the time you might want to do it now..but its probably six of one, half dozen of the other).

Hi

It does not make any difference in how they view you in terms of recruiting. The only difference is that they will know that you'll have to take the classes. That's it...

It doesn't matter for your application.

Just wait for your orientation. You'll want to hang out with your fellow interns while you recertify anyway.
