We got ACLS certified before beginning our 3rd year clerkships. I lost the ACLS card but wanted to know how long certification lasts. How many years before it expires?

2 years. Expires at the end of whatever month you took it in.

Most residency programs will make you recert it during your orientation week anyhow.

It varies - it may be a requirement at some residency programs early on, not so at others.

And yes, ACLS lasts for 2 years. I think BLS may last for 3 though...weird.
