ACS Chemistry Exam

Are some of the questions on the ACS Chemistry Exams close or similar to the ones asked on the MCAT? I rocked the ACS exam and got the highest grade at my university, but I'd like to know what's facing me in the future.

Nope, not the same at all.

Edit: Well, to elaborate- the topics and depth it will cover will be about the same. But the exam will test your basic science knowledge and critical thinking skills. Also, the exam is mostly passage-based. The passages will range from something that looks like it comes from a journal article, textbook, or results from a student experiment. This tends to be more challenging to students. But doing well in your basic science classes will make it much, much easier when you prepare for the MCAT. So keep up the good work.

I had a hybridization question and an electronic configuration question on my MCAT that were similar in scope to the ACS exams.

BTW: These are from practice exam 3R, which is usually agreed to be easier than the actual MCAT.

Sorry, I did not mean it that way, honestly. I sometimes phrase things in a way that make me seem like I am. My bad 😳.

I looked at those sample problems and, holy **** haha. Yeah they are way different. ACS is more like plug and chug or use common sense or w/e. These questions look like you need to completely comprehend and understand whats going on behind the scenes conceptually. Definitely going to pay more attention to concepts and stuff now. Thanks!

I will bet money that every MCAT has at least one of these "gimme" questions like where you just regurgitate a fact or plug-n-chug into an equation. I assure you, most of the questions on the exam will not be of this nature.

What about the ACS for O-Chem? (I have done AAMC 3 and all the Ochem on that test seems pretty straight forward).
