Activities Description -> Past or Present Tense?

This may seem like a stupid question, but do you explain your activities in past or present tense? I am thinking if I am currently involved it should be present and if it is something I did a while back it should be in the past tense? Thanks in advance.

Ummmmm....well what I did was if the activity has passed then write in Past Tense. If the activity is current then write in present tense....
