I got 470 on ADAT...honestly studied 3 months in but I had so many other stuff to do with school...does any one else know how retake works? Can I retake the exam in the June and still apply this year? Should I inform the schools that I am retaking the exam? Any advice is greatly appreciated. I prepared everything in terms of personal statement, rec letter and result is really really disappointing and I honestly feel so defeated at the moment. My other stats in terms of GPA/research are pretty solid. Thank you so much.

As someone who has taken the ADAT this last year, all I can say is that it’s a tough exam that’s a double edge knife.
If you do well with a solid GPA/EC, it brings up your app, and if you do poorly with the same stats, it brings your application down.
If I were you I’d really consider what schools you are really trying to get into. Of the 55 endo programs only 10-11 requires the ADAT at the time of writing this post, could change in the future.
If you are hard set on applying to any of those 10-11 schools, I’d tell you buckle down and try to score at least in 570+.
If you designated a school to receive your score when applying for the ADAT, your score automatically gets uploaded to your application. So if that’s the case I’d retake the exam and notify schools of your retake and try to apply this cycle.
Otherwise if you have a lot on your plate at school, I’d recommend to apply to schools that do not require the ADAT. If your goal is to become a Endo, whether you take the ADAT or not, you can still get there.

Do you think retaking will kind of delay schools's review of my application? I was afraid that if I do retake, they might consider the actual completion of the application to be around mid/late June which I thought was extremely late. I'm thinking of taking it 1st week of June and results would come out in 2 weeks (turn around)....I'm also taking INBDE in this June and i am heavily conflicted at the moment...Honestly I was expecting at least 500 and bombing the clniical section really pulled my grade down...

What program/specialty are you applying to?
