Say someone gets accepted to UCLA SMDEP or any other summer program and he/she is applying that summer (June to be exact). Would it be a good idea to add that summer program onto the app befor the program was completed? The applicant has already been offered the summer program acceptance in may. What would you do?

IF we were talking about SMDEP, there wouldn't be an issue since you have to be a freshmen/sophomore to be part of the program and no one's applying to dental school the summer of their sophomore year.
YES, Do it! They have a section on AADSAS where you can add any pre-dental summer enrichment programs or internships. I did 2 different Pre-dental Enrichment programs and was able to get interviews at those schools once I applied to dental school. They are really great opportunities and if you got your acceptance and are positive you are going to do your program then you should definitely include it.
