Is it possible to submit my AACOMAS application for verification now, then add LORs after verification and then submit to programs?

Some schools require a DO LOR. My previous letter writer fell through so I had to reach out to a backup which means waiting another 1-2 weeks.

I just want to make sure I can Submit to throwaway -> Get verified -> add LORs -> Submit to my actual schools.

Thanks!

Yes you can add LORs after getting verified and it will automatically be sent to schools you added.

I've been doing this too. I submitted Sept 4th, but I had no LORs at the time. I've added 1-2 a week as they've come in, using Interfolio to manage them in case I need them next year too. Just waiting on my committee letter now.

Thanks for the replies!

Do schools that receive your app without LORs wait for the LORs? Or do they just toss your application out for missing items?

I doubt any school throws an app out for missing items like LORs. Most schools will send out secondaries without LORs, and some will send out interview invites, but that is very school specific. The school specific threads will offer more insight into which schools will hold IIs for LORs.

They wait for it. In some cases, they will email you saying they’re missing a certain LOR. In my case, they told me I was missing a physician letter and they couldn’t evaluate until it’s submitted. I uploaded it through interfolio, got an II, and now accepted .

I was in a similar situation, where I was unable to submit a LOR until a month later. Schools will receive your application, but they will not review it until all requirements are met.
