Does anyone know how much you get charged if you add another school after you've already submitted your application? Is still the $30 for additional schools or is it the $160 for the first one? Do schools know if you added them late? Thanks!

$30. Schools probably don't even check to compare your submit date against when they received your app.

Can you add schools after you submit? In the AMCAS instruction book, it says that you can only make post-submission changes to your ID, name, and contact info. Then you have to re-certify and re-submit. If you can add schools, how does it work?

You can definitely add more schools up until the deadlines for each school that you apply to (October 15, November 1, November 15, December 1, December 15 - may be missing a date...). You just have to re-certify and re-submit (which means that your changes will be processed, and information transmitted (both electronic and hard copies) to the additional schools).
