Hi All,

Just wondering if it's important to fill out the non required "Additional Information" on SOPHAS like Community and Volunteer experience, etc? I've already uploaded a resume, which includes all my past experiences and awards, so do I need to type all of this in the forms again?

Thanks,
Sharkey

I didn't when I applied for MPH programs (in 2007) and am not doing so this year while applying for PhD programs, either.

Are you the type of person that reflects while contemplating the question "what if?"

If so, do yourself the favor of completion.

I think you don't have to. But they said that if you have any special concerns, such as you want to explain why your grades were low, or you wanted to show them something extra, people usually put it there.

I really can't think of anything to write here. Must I absolutely put something? 'Blank' will be mean- awful?

(I mean, in the awards and honors section of the SOPHAS application)

There are some fantastic people out there who are never formally recognized for their work and accomplishments.

Don't worry about it. If everyone had an award or accomplishment, then they wouldn't mean that much.
