I'm hoping someone can provide an answer to my dilemma.

So, I noticed that the requirements listed on the ADEA PASS search engine are different than the requirements listed on school websites. For example, ADEA PASS says that School A requires a 2x2 picture, undergraduate transcripts, etc, but on School A's website, there's no mention of sending in a 2x2 picture or undergraduate transcripts.

What do you go by?? The school's website?? ADEA PASS search engine?? Both??

Thanks

I emailed the contact person listed on PASS and asked for each of the programs I was applying to.

I would go with whatever source requires more information. That way you have your bases covered.

I think emailing the programs is overkill and they will likely be annoyed.

Hup

I have e-mailed a couple of programs and was happy I did because the addresses on both the website and PASS were incorrect. In fact they were happy I drew attention to that detail so they could update the information. I am sure they want to get a great pool of applicants and do not want materials floating around, so I do not think they will be annoyed. It is their job after all 🙂

I emailed every single program I applied to. And as another poster stated sometimes both PASS and their website were incorrect. Sometimes you need to send a check for secondaries so I asked specifically about that. This might have been overkill but I made a spreadsheet of all the programs and all of the extra items each program needed. And if one program needed it, I sent it to every other program. Then I explained what I was sending to each program with a cover letter. I ended up sending all of my official transcripts, 2x2 photo, check for secondaries if needed, my CV, personal statement, secondary applications if any, and a cover letter. I FedExed it all. Then I called or emailed to make sure they all arrived, to see if my application with them was complete or if they needed anything else. I do not think I annoyed any programs, I got almost all of the interviews I wanted.

Phidippides, a couple questions if you don't mind. 1. Where did you get the email contacts to do this? On PASS several of them are the PD's email address.. did you use this and just email them or what? 2. What did you do if you emailed a program and didn't hear back from them? Just send everything? (this has happened to me with several Texas programs and I'm not exactly sure what else to do... call maybe???) I mean some programs don't even give you an address to send the stuff THEY WANT to. Maybe I'm just an idiot. Thanks for the help in advance

1. I first looked on the program's website for a program coordinator or secretary email address. If there was none listed, I either called or emailed the PD. I specifically remember I emailed Dr. Cunningham at Kentucky. He did not seem to mind, in fact he was nice enough to answer my questions very thoroughly. I got that interview so I don't think I annoyed them.

2. I called if I did not hear back via email. If that does not work out for you, I would mail everything and then call after to see if they got it all and/or need something else.

Good Luck

Thanks a lot man. Have a good one

:bang:I don't understand why it is so hard to list supplement documents in a conspicuous manner. I have found so many discrepancies and mistakes, I sometimes feel like they don't really care whether you apply or not.
