I have seen a lot of 20s+ floating around on this forum, even some 23-24+, from my research on predents, it doesn't look as though the stats of accepted hasn't gone up that much in recent years(3.3-3.5, 20DAT). I am sure every year the competition for admission gets tougher, what do you think this year's avg will be?

Also a question regarding aadsas gpa, do schools look at the w/o +/-? what's the deal with that?
thanks

The answer to all your questions depends on the schools

For this year, its simple!

GPA? 4.01.
DAT? 30.
Shadowing? 15 Billion Hours.
Research? 5 Years.
Publications? No, I mean yes; 80,000.

Only 5 years research?:nono: That wont fly with any of the schools i applied to, and 80,000 pubs is a lil on the low side...😉

Yes, dental schools will likely get more competitive stat-wise, but only to a certain degree. Interviewing at UF, it was pointed out that if they interviewed based on GPA and DAT scores alone, the admission standard would be 3.9gpa and 21+ DAT. However, dental schools are looking for more well-rounded applicants usually, so the stat admissions standard is closer to 3.5gpa/19DAT.
