My first post. I am turning in my application on monday and a quick question for you guys. On the pdf file someone posted, adsas says you have to include course hours for classes you have not passed and have retaken. Under the UC grading system, classes you recieve a C- or lower in and retake are not calculated into the GPA. On the transcript you are given no credits for the class you recieve a C- or lower in and credits for when you retake it. My UC GPA is 3.03, but with the two classes I did not passed averaged my adsas would be 2.9. Would you advise me to just enter a grade for the classes or include credits also. I am not sure, becasue the application tells you to fill it out as it appears on your transript and use conversions listed. I do not want adsas to not process my application or delay it. Thanks for your help guys.

If your transcripts have absolutly no indicators of that class being re-taken, then i think you can get away with not putting your previous grade. You must check your offical transcript first, you don't want to get caught. Be careful! 😀

They do indicate the class was retaken and the grades do show up, but no credits are given for the classes and none are shown on the transcript. UC schools allow you to retake 4 classes below C- before they average them into your GPA. I was going to just put down the class and the letter grade but no units for the class, as it is done on my transcripts. I am not sure if this will delay the processing of my adsas or be considered dishonest. Not sure what to do guys. 🙁

In that case, you must be honest and list the classes that were re-taken. It is not worth the risk of looking like an @ss and trying to decieve AADSAS and the adcoms. Also, there is not a huge difference between a 3.03 and a 2.9. Yes, it will make you fall below the 3.0 mark, but i definetly think it is not worth the risk.

Just copy EXACTLY what you see on your transcript. Don't worry about the logistics behind any of it.

Yea that is what I am confused about. On my transcripts I do not recieve credits for classes I have retaken, but my grade does show up and the credits attempted do also. I recieve credits only for the second time I have taken the class and have passed it. In that case should I just include the course hours or not. I am just confused, because in my UC GPA I am not given course credit for these classes. I am not sure if you are following what I am saying. It is not looking good guys. I have a 2.9 cummulative and a 2.8 science and 2.8 BCP. 19 AA 19 Tot Sci and 18 PAT. I am retaking them in August because I got a 16 in reading comp. 🙁 I really do not want to do 2 years post bac. That is why this is really important. If my UC GPA is used then I have a 3.0 cummulative and sci. 🙁 Thanks for your help guys, I wish I found out about this site earlier.

hey, i think i know what ur talking about. here at USF, if we fail a class, you can re-take it, and then your failing grade is not counted towards your gpa. however, when AADSAS or dental schools look at ur transcript, they include ALL the classes you ever took, regardless if you've retaken them, failed them, or whatever. so your gonna have to list them just as they are. hope this helps you, i was in a similar situation where i got a C in one class, and was going to re-take it, but my advisor told me not too, cuz even if i got an A, when dental schools look at it, its going to look like a B cuz they look at both scores.

I have a question too regarding AADSAS calculation:

I just receieved the Pink form today and my gpa does not add up to the way I calculated it. Lets say i took a class semester 1 and got a C-, now I took the class over Semester 3 and got a A. Is the R suppose to be next to the Semester 1 grade or the Semester 3 grade. Because on mine it shows up next to the Semester 3 grade.

Also will AADSAS calculate both GPA's into the calculation? or only the recent one taken? Thanx

My school will issue you a copy of your official transcript. I'm assuming that most schools do this as well. So, my suggestion is to obtain a copy of your official transcript and copy it exactly as it appears to your AADSAS application. If it shows that you withdrew or failed a class on your official transcript (even though your school may not use it to calculate your GPA), then it has to be on your AADSAS application.

Alright thanks guys. I guess I am submiting it monday with a 2.9 cum 2.8 sci. 🙁
