For those of you who have been accepted, how have med schools treated ur AP credit assuming you had some in some of the premed prereq classes like bios 1, bios 2, gen chem 1, chem 2, phys 1, phys 2...etc....

Has anyone who got AP Credit from their college or university had to retake those courses just for the med school? even if you went on to take advanced bio or chem classes for example

I think it depends on the school, but I have an impression that it is better to re-take those courses. If you did well enough on your AP courses, intro courses should be easier so you can boost your GPA. Also if the school requires it, you won't be sorry later on.

I had AP credit for Bio 101/102 and had no problems with the osteopathic schools accepting them. It's the allopathic schools that tend to frown on them so consult the MSAR to find out which schools accept them and which don't before you apply to any allopathic schools. Good Luck 🙂

All my AP credits came outside of the life sciences and neither allo or osteo schools had a problem excepting those. You'll probably need to send an official transcript at some point to the schools to "prove" your university gave you credit.
