DO student here just wondering if it is possible to do a "osteopathic traditional rotating internship" before starting as a CA-1 at an allopathic residency? If you match to the internship don't they automatically withdrawal you from the allopathic match? If this is true, how would you do it? Just wondering if anyone has investigated this as I'm really planning on staying allopathic

if you want to practice in one of the five states (PA, FL, OK, MICH, ?) it matters, if not then you can do an MD internship/CBY. i am in the same boat but am going to apply to both categorical and advanced positions and if I match advanced i will scramble a TY internship...there are always plenty of TY DO programs open.

Will all of the allopathic residencies accept an osteopathic TY?

So if I just scramble for a osteopathic TY year, will the anesthesia residency have any special requirements for the TY or will it work as long as it's AOA approved?

Hey, DO student here as well with a quick question. Does anyone know about U of Michigan and doing a DO internship? I know that you have to have completed a DO intership before you can start residency in Michigan. Can I do the DO internship and then start as a CA-1 or do I have to do 2 internships = 5 years of residency total? Thanks
