Advanced Standing vs. Regular 4+ year Program

Hi All

Below are my stats:

NBDE I: 87
TOEFL: 240
ECE GPA: 3.18
waiting for NBDE Part II results

I'm not sure what my chances are with these stats. So I have been thinking of applying to 4 year DDS program as a regular student by giving DAT rather than re-appearing for NBDE I....but I hardly hear any foreign trained dentist doing so. What do you guys think of this alternative? Would like to hear some thoughts. 😕

.......how interesting,u know just today i was also thinking of the same thing...havnt given my part 1 as yet,am green card holder ...so wt should be my score like to b able to get thru in advanced standing programme......and wt do u think abt dat...is it tough?

Hai,

My advise to you is to apply to california schools,and try your luck.
I think going thru DAT is going back to your high school studies again.Its better to do part 1 than DAT..thats my 2cents.

U have more chance in the west coast 🙂 and try applying everywhere 👍

Also be adviced that you may have to do some college level science courses and the program is pretty competitive as well
