Advantageous to retake prereqs for SMP/formal postbacc?

I scoured the forum for the answer and didn't come up with anything. I know under the MD/DO forums for people who absolutely want to apply right away are suggested to retake classes that they received C's in, is that practical for SMPs/formal postbaccs as well? I figured it can't hurt, but would it be redundant since I want to do and SMP/postbacc for a GPA booster?
