Hello All,

Okay, here's a brief description of my situation: I started out on the pharmacy tract and realized a little late in the game that it was totally not for me. Pharmacy was just not a perfect match for me and now I am trying position myself to be a competitive medical school applicant.

Here's me by the numbers:

1. GPA(s): 3.25/ GPA(c) 3.50
2. GPA Pharmacy: 3.75
3. MCAT score: 28 (7p/11v/10b)

I am little disappointed in my physical science score because I was averaging approximately 3 points higher in that section during my practice exams. I just do not know where to go from here. I could take the exam again but I am worried that a July test date would make my application too late. Would a early July test date and thus a early August score release make my application late? I have also been considering applying with what I have. Given that I have some really awesome extracurriculars, are there some MD schools within my reach?

With your GPA and current MCAT, you're chances for an allopathic med school are probably slim. This being the case, I don't think that the July MCAT would be a good idea for the upcoming application cycle. You might want to push back the test date so you can study more for it (probably going to need a 33+) and perhaps take classes in the meantime - in preparation for the 2011 cycle.

Also, you need to get your BCPM GPA up higher, which includes all the sciences and the math you´ve taken, but not the pharmacy classes (it seems you´re already in a PharmD program?). You should not apply this year.
