I was on probation after my 1st semester and off it after my 2nd semester. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to approach the probation prompt on PTCAS. Here is what i have written so far:
After the Fall semester of 2013 I was put onto academic probation due to my poor performance in courses I was enrolled in. I was able to be successfully omitted from probationary status after the very next semester (Winter 2014). The semester which lead to my probation, was the first semester in my undergraduate program. At that time, I was inexperienced with maintaining a rigorous study schedule and I did not have a clear career outlook. Specific changes which I have made which resulted in my omission from probation, includes; proper time management, keeping up with lecture material and speaking with student tutors and professors if unclear with the material. I achieved clear standings the next semester and remained in clear standings for the rest of my degree. Academic probation has had a positive outcome in my pursuit of education. I often cite this point of my life as a fork in the road and I have made necessary changes which resulted in substantial improvements to my academic performance, including my qualification for the Dean’s list in the final year of my Degree.
