Hello guys I'm a dentist from Peru (sorry for not using the international section but I think I could get more help here), I'll be applying this year to residency programs and I could use some advice. I'm not sure if my profile is good enough or even competitive enough to apply for the perio residency but I like the idea of going to an AEGD first.
A quick summary of my profile:
School: UPC Graduated July 2017
Grades: top 10% of my class (we don't have a GPA system)
Work: Currently teaching at my dental school (part time)
Work on a private dental office
NBDE 1/2: passed the first one about to take 2nd one
Research: Published an article on a US journal
Extra: Helped Growing Smiles Foundation when they came to Peru to help kids
Externships: I've done an observership at Nicklaus Children's Hospital: Pediatric Hospital in Miami and 3 dental offices in the US.
If you guys have any suggestions please let me know, I'm trying to make my profile as competitive as posible, I have no idea to how many programs do people usually apply so that would help aswell.
