Hi all, I have two questions which I would appreciate responses to

First, my stats:

-4.0 Physiology Major w/ Classics Minor (specifically the pre-christian levant)
-haven't taken MCAT, though I'm sure I can at least break a 30
-6 months of research in physiology lab studying the effects of carcinogens on primordial follicles
-2 years volunteering, pediatrics/ambulatory surgery/pacu/front desk
-6 months of research in a renal lab, mostly performing IHC on tissue samples
-6 months of research in the department of architecture (significant only because I won an award at the student showcase of that year for it)
-1.5 years of work in a cell culture lab on campus (paid job)
-6 month shadowing "internship" offered through surgery club with a vascular surgeon

Now for the questions...

-All of the above activity was accrued over my freshman, junior, and senior years, meaning sophomore year was pretty light in the EC department, will this hurt me?
-What little things could I do before June to improve this app?

Any comments are welcome, thanks for taking the time to read

A light sophomore year shouldn't hurt as long as you resumed/continued ECs through junior year up to the present.

Do you have any teaching experience? Leadership? Shadowing doctors in other specialties other than surgery (schools like to see a variety)? If not, these are all ways you can further improve your application.

Other than that, everything else looks good. Just do well on the MCAT and you're good to go.

Overall, pretty strong. A publication and a leadership experience would be great, but otherwise I think that you are pretty solid. If anything, I'd say a few extra points on the MCAT will probably help you more than any EC you could likely do (other than some fun things that are one shot deals) in the time before application. I'd say spend your extra time and really grind away at the MCAT.

That all looks fine. A 30+ will probably seal your acceptance barring any terrible interviews/bad LOR.

Make one B+ so you can relax your cheeks....

It is not worth it....

Plus, I have actually had ad com folks tell me they rather see a 3.85-3.9 than a 4.0 since they cant "handle" not being perfect. I know one girl whose world would collapse if she made less than an A.

Let it go.....👍
