Can ye, the wise, enlighten us incoming freshmen.

Are there any good books to read that would elaborate on what to pay attention to, what to make sure we have for school, or just any general advice?

I was just accepted two days ago, I'm really looking for some pointers.

Relax until matriculation. There is little to nothing that you can meaningfully do now that will help you in medical school in any substantive way.

Beyond that, work hard but take care of yourself. Medical training will eat you alive and spit you out if you allow it. Determine what your goals are as quickly as you can and pursue them to the fullest, but don't be too hard on yourself. In all likelihood you won't be a superstar student, and there's a 50% chance you'll be less than average. Prepare to be comfortable with that reality.

Otherwise, strap yourself in and prepare for the ride.
