Hello SDN, so I've been doing a lot of research on this site for awhile now and finally decided to create an account since I love the site so much. About my situation, I am a freshman bio major strongly considering dental school and was wondering how it would look if I retook the general art class I got a D in? (no desire to be in that class whatsover, to explain the D..) Other then that my GPA is a 3.0 currently, I just wasent sure how a D would look on my application/transcript even though it has nothing to do with the major? Thanks for any advice.

Brandon.

I wouldnt retake an art class..but from now on get high grades in all classes to raise your gpa alot. Since you have many classes to take try to get it up to a 3.5+ bc each year the dental stats increase

I agree. Since you are a freshman, your GPA is most impressionable. It's harder to raise it junior/senior year so focus on doing well next semester. The grade will probably come up in an interview somewhere, but being that it's an art class you can bs your way through it. Don't get a D in a science class! Good luck!
