Took NBME 11 yesterday and I missed 15 neuro questions which I am assuming is basically all but 1. I watched the Kaplan Neuroanatomy yesterday and all day today, I still can't get those questions. I have no idea what to do with Neuroanatomy because it is killing my score.

I only have 4 weeks left and I'm so lost on this topic.

Here are the resources I've loved and hated depending on the day

Clinical Neuroanatomy made ridiculously simple, if you do not already own it go buy it, now.... Then read it just lounging on the couch.

Next.. Axiom neuro, it is an awesome 3d tracts questions and it makes certain relationships show up. It also has a section where you can do lesions with a person.

Next... Retread clinical Neuroanatomy this time taking notes and drawing out tracts

Next on YouTube there are 52 videos made by this guy about Neuroanatomy, I can't remember his name but he uses an ink pen and takes you through all of the basics really well.

Next, If you link songs there were 2 by this girl on YouTube the spinothalamic and dcml, I was singing one of them in my head while doing questions.

If you are still having problems I recommend getting a brain and brainstem and hashing it out. Axiom is by far one of my favorite resources. (this is coming from someone who had lots of difficulty with neuro, after going through axiom it finally clicked interns of 3d orientations. There may be other resources that work better for you though.

I had the same trouble. Thought I was plain dumb for not getting it even after multiple readings of neuro section in kaplan anatomy. The subject is such that, you need to memorise as much as you need to understand.
And Kaplan and FA are more than enough. Don't give up or neglect the topic completely. All step 1 questions just need a bit of figuring out to do, the ultimate answer makes you wanna smack your forehead. Read these two a coupla times and go back to the explanations for nbme11.. you'll get em 🙂 Sometimes you just need a break from that topic.. don't push yourself too hard..
