Advice for NYU imcoming 2012

sup, here is a few points of advice for incoming freshmen

1-get your self a laptop that comes with an extended battery, you dont want to be like the ppl in Nagel fighting for a plug lol.

2- collect some human teeth before starting, you will need them in the spring so save yourself the headache
3- u dont need a palm pilot, they will tell you to buy one, uhh dont they will get outdated and you will only need it in d3, but if you want its pretty sweet to load your schedule on a treo phone, instead of carrying around a crap load of printed schedule sheets but u save yourself 300 bucks

4- find a cheap place that sells plastic teeth, most likely you wont find one and you'll have to buy them from school so you can practice

5- start reviewing up on anatomy head & neck and biochem, you'll save yourself a huge headache.

6- first day of skewl join a few clubs you will understand why, and if you find any d2/3 make friends with them, they will teach you whats going on and all the tips/tricks of nyu.

if other nyuer's have other words of advice plz share it so the new guys can benefit.

Is it required to obtain teeth for the first year? If so, how do you store them?

how many teeth should we be collecting and what kind? Would it be ok to use some of my primary teeth that I have stored in alcohol from way back? yes i know weird...
also i need to get a new cell phone anyways so I'm thinking of getting the treo... would we need internet access for the phone?

dont go crazy collecting teeth, you'll only need around 10 or less, you'll do some preps and fill them with composite so you can see the difference in cutting a plastic tooth compared to a real tooth. get more and give your friends. you can store them in 1:100 parts bleach i think, i totally forgot, but they give u instructions. if worst comes to worst store them in 70% alcohol, and you'll fix whatever bacteria/virus there.

As for the internet u dont need any phone internet usage, you'll be using your laptop 24/7.

as for the buying of teeth, we use colombia dentafom and as far as i know colombia dentiform sells u a tooth at 2 bucks, nyu sells it at like 1.80 bucks so if u find something cheaper your set.
