1) Check out the school's rotations (where, how they are set-up, etc.) for the 3rd and 4th year...

2) When visiting a school, talk to as many current students as you can!

3) If you are applying to D.O. schools, ask yourself if you plan on using OMM in your practice, why you want to be a D.O., etc...

4) Be sure to check out tutition and cost-of-living!
 
5) go with your gut feeling about a school. if you like a school, and can see yourself living there for at least 3 yrs, don't freak out about its "ranking"
