My step 1 score was a huge dissappointment. i did not put as much time into the studying as i would have liked (4 weeks) and scored a 199. so now i need to do well on step 2 for myself.

i'm interested in either peds, internal medicine, or family medicine as a carreer currently.

what are some good resources to use?

The standard answer will be:

Brochert: Secrets or Crush. I liked the Q&A format of Secrets better but Crush is good to flip through. Similar/same content.

Boards and Wards: a little too detal oriented for me personally

USMLEworld.com do all the questions and read over the explanations carefully. You will see similar questions on the real step 2.

I also liked Kaplan's Q book, after taking step 2 and flipping through Q book I realized there are a lot of questions almost the same as those in Q book.

And of course the nbme.org practice exams which predict your score, many say to +/- 10 points on the 3 digit scale.

which qbook is everybody talking about? when i called kaplan today, they told me they dont sell their qbook alone and that i would have to buy the $700 course to get everything plus the qbook. seems like a rip-off to me 👎

the Q book mentioned above is the Step I book they hand out with Q bank or the lecture course.

Kaplan also publishes a Step II CK Qbook which some people short-dub Q book as it is similar to the first one. Here is a link on amazon:
