Hey guys,

I need some advice, please be honest! I am almost done my AADSAS application, the last thing is my PSE. I want to be completely satisfied with it before I E-submit. I plan to do this mid June or even end of June if needed. Transcripts and LOR's are mailed out

My stats are:
oGPA: 3.459
sGPA: 3.333

Canadian DAT: 19AA, 19TS (17BIO, 22CHEM, 19RC), and 22PAT
The 17 in bio really bothers me, but if they don't look at scores individually then 19AA is "average"?

LOR: Should all be very strong.
2 from science profs --> Both taught me courses, research assistant in a lab for one of the profs.
1 from my Head Coach --> I captain the Varsity fencing team
1 from my dentist --> shadowed for roughly 250 hours.

ECs:

University Experiences
250 hours of shadowing
1 year as a research assistant in a lab
Varsity Fencing Captain ( upward trend in competition over 4 years from 14th place to silver medalist at Ontario University Association OUA competition), also award MIP award, Most Important Player
Social and Media director (3 years) of Charitable club at Univeristy
Outreach Director of University chapter for VIDA Volunteers (2 years)
Pre-dental student volunteering in Honduras and Costa Rica (2 summers)
Executive on Social Committee in first year for Life Sciences Program


Work Experiences:
GoodLife Fitness --> Motivator, Current job!
Vector Marketing, Sale job (1 summer) --> Awarded top sales for 2 months straight
Student Intern in Automobile factory (2 summers, GM/FORD)
Waiter/Floor Manager of restaurant (2 years)

Hobbies/Volunteer:
14 years of Piano training
Volunteer at Martha's table - provided low cost meals to impoverished
Volunteer for Kingston Youth Shelter
Sunday School teacher for kids aged 6-14 (grade 12, first year university)


I think I am having pre-app stress, I had thought about applying and maybe rewrite the Canadian DAT in November if all else fails. I am really shooting for pre-december interviews. I LOVE interviews, so I am banking on that??

Chances? Thoughts? Suggestions??

GPA wise, you are almost same as mine. I did have a huge upward trend tho (4.0 3rd year, 3.7 4th year)
but your ECs are much better than mine.
I am also canadian
with 21 AA in American DAT I received 2 pre-Dec interviews last cycle.

I am also a Canadian app. but with MUCH lower stats. I was told that individual sections could be looked at on the DAT (I had a 16 in BIO) and so I am retaking my DAT mid-June. Your DAT is the only thing that may be a concern, however your GPA may balance it out. Your GPA is average for the entering student and you have outstanding ECs! Good luck!

Yes, that is the plan. I feel like I can score well on the DAT so fingers-crossed! I am still finishing up some courses this June so will wait for those marks before I submit in mid-July. When are you planning on submitting?

thank you! hard work finally paid off !
I applied to 12. but only got 2 pre-Dec interview, 1 post-Dec interview and 1 acceptance
USC is really expensive.... apparently if you go to USC it will cost you 470k in Canadian currency
If I were you I would add U of Pittsburgh, Nova, (these two schools take lots of Canadians) and maybe Arizona and New England? (Not too sure about these last two) and I would take out Temple. Temple takes 1 or 2 Canadians every year

I hope that I will receive pre-dec interviews. I am scared about the 17 in bio. I don't really have a huge gpa trend, it broke in 4th year (personal reasons) 🙁..

don't worry I had 17 in RC which is more important than Bio from what I have heard
so you should be OK
