Hello all
Well I was planning on going to school overseas, but I'm back in the states and will just finish my bachelor degree first , i think its a better idea , overseas is not the place to be lol, Anyways Im a student at UCF , i have taken few transiet courses ( courses taken a community college approved by your university )pretty much some general Ed courses, trig, speech, and etc
I will be transferring schools soon also to FAU, and I'm planning on taking more transient courses pretty much what I have left physics, chems and one more math ? does it really hurt my chances when applying to med schools later on if i go the transient route? its cheaper for me and also closer distance wise , i will be taking classes at the university campus but will take some at a community college also, please contribute and give advice, also I took 1 year off , dropped a few courses, left the country , moved back and forth , should I explain why i took time off later on when making a personal statement to med schools?
thanks in advance , any other advice pertaining to where Im heading or what I can do now to Improve my chances of getting into a med school here
thanks again 😀

You'll need a solid academic record of achievement to get in to med school. I think you can attend whatever 4 year university you want, though better to attend one with more premed students (and an organized health professions office or at least faculty advisor) than one with less. It would be better to take your required premed courses at a 4 year university rather than community college. If you need some credits (i.e. art classes, foreign language, etc.) for a distribution requirements and feel you need to take some classes at a CC, I would do it for those type classes. Just concentrate on picking a major and doing well academically for now.

Would not worry about the personal statement right now...wait until it is closer to the time to apply to med school. It's basically where you tell your motivation for wanting to go to med school...travel, etc. from several years back wouldn't necessarily need to be discussed.
