Advice needed gap year next step?

I have a 27 on MCAT 10-PS, 9-VR, 8-BS
I have a 3.34 Cum GPA and My Osteopathic Sci- GPA is around a 3.18

I had struggled in the first two years of college got 2 C's in Bio 1+2 then C+ in Bio Lab, also Had a 3.0 Cum after first 2 years then got straight 3.7s on my way out of college and ended up where I am now. Also got an A in upper division Bio and was a chem minor. Haven't taken Anatomy or Bio Chemisty since I wasn't a bio major in college.

I applied for DO schools this past cycle a little late (november-sent primary), got couple of interviews and even ended up on a wait list. But don't think I will get in for this fall. Go into SGU and Ross also but don't know if that thats the right step or not.

I have a lot of extra curriculars everything from social research (never published), to volunteering, to working at a hospital, to shadowing a DO+MD also I have recs from every one also.

My question now is incase I don't get into DO school now, what should my next step be that will help me go to Medical School next August 2015. Should I retake MCAT, or Take More Science courses or Apply for some program or research more and try to get published?

@Matrix0992 ... Caribbean (SGU/Ross) is very risky... I think you should be ok this cycle... Apply to these schools so you can augment your chances: ACOM, LMU-DCOM, LUCOM, PCOM-GA, WVSOM, VCOM, SOMA, KYCOM etc...

Retake those Cs. Getting published could help but those Cs are the bigger issue as of now.

Yes, as long as the description is the same/similar and the number of credit hours is greater than or equal to that of the course being replaced.

I'd suggest retaking the courses you got C's in and gaining some clinical volunteer/work experience.

my other question was how do schools? interpret me retaking courses ? would they not ? look at my apps till they receive updated scores? and how can I show this on my primary? I have yet to sign up.
