I've been waitlisted for this year's DO schools (and I'm thinking not going to get in since I haven't heard anything), so I started to apply for the carib schools. I've sent in AUC and Ross apps for Jaunary a few weeks ago. I was just wondering if I could find out what the disadvantages of applying for the January semester are? I'm hoping not to take the MCATs over again so what would my chances at the Big 4 be? My stats: 25 MCAT, 3.452 GPA. Thanks!

Jan 2008 class means you may not graduate in time to participate in the 2011 match. That means you will either stretch your time out during clinical rotations or have extra time on your hands before the match.

Other than that, the Caribbean MD versus DO threads have covered the advantages and disadvantages of each. It usually comes down to personal preference and nothing really objective.

Your chances from the stats you posted look good for the Carib.
