😕my puppy is 14 weeks old now, and one of his littermates was diagnosed with puppy strangles a few days ago; my puppy has not been around this puppy since he was 6.5 weeks old and since has had his first shots and been dewormed; however when we heard about his sister developing strangles we checked him over carefully after reading up on it online and since yesterday he has developed small, flesh coloured bumps on the inside tips of his ears; as far as i can tell they are not filled with any fluids, but one has a small scab/crust; they are very small, like the size of the tip of a pencil; and they dont seem to itch or bug him... should i take him to the vet? i am so worried about him, he is the runt and has a kinked tail and is much smaller then the other pups, but he is my baby and i am worried.... i am going to call the vet today and see if she thinks i should bring him in, but i am wondering if i should just skip the call and take him in. he gets a bath once a week and is very clean. im so worried that he has strangles.... i didnt even know dogs could GET strangles, i have only heard of it in horses!!! any help or advice would help!

When in doubt see your vet. I believe this forum doesn't allow medical advice and your thread will likely be closed and/or deleted.

Equine strangles and "puppy strangles" are not the same thing. But yes - take him to the vet. Due to the fact that many here are students who have not yet finished training, and those of us that *are* veterinarians cannot give medical advice without a valid client-patient relationship due to ethics, we can't answer such things on a online forum.
