It was a disappointing day for me, I ended up matching into a cat IM program and not anesthesia. I am a US-IMG and I had 5 anesthesia programs that I ranked and was really hoping to land into one of those. I know I need to be grateful for matching and I am but I wanted to know see what my options are. I know people switch out of residencies and I wanted to get some thoughts on how to go about staying in good standing with my program while trying to match into an advanced position next year. How do you go about this and if I don't match did I burn my bridge with my current program and therefore might not get my contract renewed for my PGY-2 year?
