Hi!
So I took my OAT yesterday. These are my scores:
QR 340
RC 360
BIO 300
CHM 340
ORG 290
PHY 340
TS 320
AA 330
I'm a bit worried about the lower scores in bio and ochem. Right now, I've only had one quarter each of bio and ochem, so I think that explains the scores. I'd like to apply this cycle, so that is why I went ahead and took the OAT before I finished those classes. I'm willing to retake the OAT in March after I have another quarter finished. Do you suggest using the Additional Information section in the application to explain why I got these scores and that I'm willing to retake? I really do believe I could improve my scores once I learn the material. It was just a bit too much to try to learn it all on my own.
I'd like to get my application in ASAP, but I still need some more job shadowing. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about this? I've shadowed my own optometrist and his partner over the summer, but it was fairly easy to set it up since I've gone there my whole life and I asked about it during my eye exam. I'm not sure how to go about this for someplace new.
Oh and my major is Biomedical Engineering and my GPA is 4.0. The only school I wanted to apply to was OSU, but now I'm wondering if I should consider other schools as well. 😕 Any advice would be appreciated!!!
