Hey,

I was wondering if I should apply this year or wait a year. My GPA is 3.0 and science GPA is 2.8. I have been bringing up my GPA for the past two semesters, especially for my science classes. I have shadowed a variety of optometrists but they were only for a day or two per optometrist. I have done volunteered at a couple events, for example I helped the homeless over the spring break. I have seen that people are being accepted with this low of a GPA, but these people are from certain states. I am from VA, and from as far as I know, most people from VA end up in Pennsylvania.

PCO isn't a breeze to get into, if i remember correctly. if you were to apply, make sure to apply to more places than just 1-2.

Hey I'm in the exact same situation. I have a overall GPA of 3.3 and a science of 3.0 and I've spent the last 3 months studying for my OAT which I am hoping to take in August so I can apply in the fall. Now, like you I'm nervous, but your grades seem fine and you have just about the same experience as I do. You should definitely give it a shot. Good luck, I hope it works out for you! I'm applying to all the schools on your list as well, yikes! 😳
