Advice on DAT retake

I took the DAT on September 22 and recieved the following scores any ideas if a retake is necessary. I have currently a 3.76 gpa 3.69 science gpa with a major in Chemistry and Biology. I'm appling to Penn,UNDMJ,BU,NYU,Tufts,Temple,Stonybrook and buffalo. I am willing to take it after the 90 period but need some opinions if it is necessary.

I would retake just because of the RC. That causes some concern while it may make the cutoff for some schools but that's never a safe bet to gamble. And I would consider 19 GC to be pretty disappointing also if my science GPA was 3.69. I didn't mean to be rude by any means, but yes I would retake.

Everything else is sent. The official DAT scores will be released to the school October 5th.

I would be surprised if you don't get an interview from BU and NYU at least, your AA is close to their average, and your GPA is above average, don't lose hope, but I would re-do it in 90 days and update those scores.

It's good to hear your application is sent.

Either way you will find out whether it is good or not anyway. Retake after 90days is going to be too late for this cycle anyway.

Roll your dice with this score this cycle and see what happens. Best luck to you man.

May I ask what went wrong on the QR sections? What did you think was the key points that will help the next test takers to be more successful? Breakdowns on the test if you can...thanks!

NYU and Tufts deadline is 2/1 so you maybe fine over there. You should search around Pre-Dental forum and find the info you want. Obviously I don't know everything 😉

UMDNJ may be a reach, ONLY because i believe all of thier pre-december interviews are gone. ur scores are fine. no need for a retake. your GPA makes up for ur low RC...the only other issue, is you applied VERY LATE.

My application was verified on Aug 6. And UNDMJ has my application but is waiting for my official Dat scores that will be released on October 5th.

You have a great science gpa/majors. My only concern for your scores is that ya the TS/AA are good especially since you already have an amazing GPA and are a double major; however, that RC is a red flag (lots of schools have DAT cut offs!)

For instance Tufts --> Minimum Scores: 17 Reading Comprehension (this is the only one I pasted here cause its the one in your list that doesn't meet). QR is less concerning cause a lot of schools kind of don't look at this score at all. Since you have 90 day wait anyway - I say roll the dice and see if you get interviews. If by 60 days you don't, consider retaking it, email your schools and ask them if they want you to (best way to find out)
