along with speech and international studies be too much?? Has anyone ever taken 3 science courses at once?

I have the option of taking calculusII instead of genetics. Which option would you choose?

I took molecluar genetics of cancer, biochemistry, and evolution and ecology (1 class) all at the same time. I didn't take another course, but I did spend about 4 hours a day at the track. It wasn't too bad, I could've handled another non-science course, but it might have affected my partying! Just manage your time well, and you'll be fine.

Edit: To answer your calc question - I'd take the bio courses over calc II myself. Granted I took it first semester of college, so I was still "adjusting", but I found that class quite time-consuming!

A lot depends upon you. Are you working full time, part time? Any domestic or professional responsibilities outside of school? Are you good in science classes? IMHO, the classes that you mentioned above (bio, phys, gen, intl studies, and spch) aren't difficult classes and you chould be able to take them all without a problem, but everyone is different. Regarding Calc II vs. Gen, that also depends upon your strengths. I personally would take Genetics because I happed to like it, but you may be one of those people that loves Calc. Also, what are the course offerings the next term? That may help you select what you should register in, for if a required course is only offered certain semesters, than you may have to plan your courses around that as well.

I don't think your course load is too heavy at all, and I would much rather take Genetics than Calculus 2. Calculus is a pain to me. Like others have said, if you manage your time well, then you shouldn't have any problems.

You should be fine, none of those classes are at the super hard end of the science class difficulty spectrum. I would definitely choose genetics over calc II...then again, calc II was the bane of my existence the semester I took it, so I suppose I'm somewhat biased. 🙂

Personally, I think that taking those three courses together will actually help you to do well as they are all related. You'll probably hear the same thing repeated a couple times and that could help to reinforce the material.
I agree with others that Calc II would be the worst! 🙂 Depends on where your strengths and weaknesses lie. Good luck!

I think it really depends on how well you do in these type classes. If you struggle with biology then you probably shouldn't take all 3 at once. It was my best area so I wouldn't have a problem with that type schedule, but it really depends on you as a student. Me, I would have a much harder time with Calculus than genetics. 🙂

Calc II is usually hard for students... you'd probably hear that calc II is worse than calc III (multivariable calc). I took both and calc II was harder for me. Genetics was a lot of fun and wasn't too hard. I would go with genetics. Why do you have to take calc II? maybe go with statistics, required by most pre-pharms.. and much easier!

One semester I took anatomy, microbiology, chem quant analysis w/lab, and a 400 level inorganic chem class. I think the three bios are definitely doable - I would choose that over the calc. Calc to me was just so time-consuming.

I would suggest if you can schedule two of your labs on the same day, do that. I had 2 of the 3 labs from the above semester on the same day - that one day was a *****, but it made for a better rest of the week.

I was in a great rush to complete my prerequisites. For my fall semester 2005, I had Survey of New Testament, Biology I, General Chem. I, Physics I, and Organic Chem. I. For spring semester, I had part II of all the sciences mentioned above, and a statistics class. Some thought I was a little tweaked while others just looked at me wierd for taking Gen. Chem. and Orgo concurrently. It was all about time mangement and keeping a positive attitude for me, and I did well both semesters. Also, I often thought to myself that things like this and those that are worse have been done before. It's doable, but it's quite like a sprint, where that is all you do and concentrate on while you are in that moment. If you believe in yourself, you can accomplish your goal.
