Advice on improving QR

Hey all!

I need some serious suggestions for QR. Just finished going over the math in the regular destroyer (153 questions) and wow! QR is a lot harder than I thought it would be. I'm not sure how many most people miss on their run through it, but I got like 40 wrong. I know a good amount was from trigonometry, and some probability, but there were a lot that I just got stuck on/ not sure how to setup.

I went over Chad's and the quizzes, but my gosh! How can I improve? I'm planning to go over all the ones I got wrong, and then start doing Math Destroyer.

What worked for you guys?

Get get at arithmetic (like using algebra) and learn some tricks and shortcuts for each problem. There are alot!

Do note that Destroyer is from experience way harder than the actual QR. Same with Chad's, lots of tricky questions. Even worse, the ADA 2009 test is also WAY harder. I think the 2007 test is more representative as far as what to expect.

Take note of the concepts you have trouble with (trig, stats, whatever), and look for youtube videos (like Khan academy) on the topic. Then it comes down to practice. The more types of problems you're exposed to the more tricks you'll have for solving new ones.

Besides the typical DAT resources (Bootcamp, chad's, etc.) you could try wolfram alpha (they have problem generators if you buy 'pro', which is like $5 a month), or look for worksheets from highschool math (simple google searches for things like 'basic trig worksheets' should do it). Better yet, if you have old math textbooks lying around you could use those, or borrow them from a library. From what I've seen if you can rock algebra lots of the questions become pretty trivial, so maybe focus on that first. But these are all just suggestions!
